Answer:
Abstract
The diagnosis of mental disorder initially appears relatively straightforward: Patients present with symptoms or visible signs of illness; health professionals make diagnoses based primarily on these symptoms and signs; and they prescribe medication, psychotherapy, or both, accordingly. However, despite a dramatic expansion of knowledge about mental disorders during the past half century, understanding of their components and processes remains rudimentary. We provide histories and descriptions of three systems with different purposes relevant to understanding and classifying mental disorder. Two major diagnostic manuals—the International Classification of Diseases and the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders—provide classification systems relevant to public health, clinical diagnosis, service provision, and specific research applications, the former internationally and the latter primarily for the United States. In contrast, the National Institute of Mental Health’s Research Domain Criteria provides a framework that emphasizes integration of basic behavioral and neuroscience research to deepen the understanding of mental disorder. We identify four key issues that present challenges to understanding and classifying mental disorder: etiology, including the multiple causality of mental disorder; whether the relevant phenomena are discrete categories or dimensions; thresholds, which set the boundaries between disorder and nondisorder; and comorbidity, the fact that individuals with mental illness often meet diagnostic requirements for multiple conditions. We discuss how the three systems’ approaches to these key issues correspond or diverge as a result of their different histories, purposes, and constituencies. Although the systems have varying degrees of overlap and distinguishing features, they share the goal of reducing the burden of suffering due to mental disorder.

what are some major events in the short story "The Bet"
Answer:
Answer:
Explanation:This paper discusses how Anton Chekhov demonstrates that the mere thought of money can severely
impact a personal relationship in his short story, ?The Lottery Ticket.? An older couple with a family
holds what could be a winning lottery ticket, but resists checking the numbers while they daydream
about what they might do with the money. It examines how, at first, their reaction to the possibility
of wealth is joyful; but rather than share their dreams and communicate their wishes, it looks at how
Ivan Dmitritch and his wife, Masha, recede into their own worlds. It attempts to show how money
definitely does not buy love and how, in fact, it has the potential to destroy it.

what is literature the legacy of?
Answer:The Transcendental Movement dramatically shaped the direction of American literature, although perhaps not in the ways its adherents had imagined. Many writers were and still are inspired and taught by Emerson and Thoreau in particular, and struck out in new directions because of the literary and philosophical lessons they had learned. Walt Whitman was not the only writer to claim that he was "simmering, simmering, simmering" until reading Emerson brought him "to a boil." Emily Dickinson's poetic direction was quite different, but she too was a thoughtful reader of Emerson and Fuller. In his own way, even Frederick Douglass incorporated many lessons of transcendental thought from Emerson.

which statements about the cold war are true
a. it began when the soviet union lost ww2
b. it pitted communism against democracy
c. it was led by the u.s. on one side and germany on the other
d. it was never a real war
Answer:
b. It pitted communism against democracy
d. It was never a real war
Explanation:
The cold war is the name of the period during the 20th century when there was strong geopolitical tension between the USSR and the United States of America. It was reflected through the series of political and cultural events that affected each country respectively, and they all happened in 1947. to the dissolution of the Soviet Union and wall of the Berlin wall, which all completed in 1991.
There was never a real direct armed conflict between two countries, which is why it is referred to as a “cold” war. The word "cold" here means it was a dissociated, detached, passive-aggressive conflict fought with ideas, propaganda, and political decisions that also affected many counties globally. Some of the events that are considered a part of the Cold war are nuclear testings, the space race, the Cuban missile crisis, the Vietnam war, and the production of various movies with the Red Scare theme.
During the conflict, the main struggle was between political systems and beliefs. On one side, the United States, supported by South Korea and NATO, were fighting for liberal and neoliberal economic and political ideas, as well as a democratic approach. On another side, the Soviet Union, supported by China, was propagating communist ideas, organization of government, politics, and economy.

According to the Hebrew Bible, why did Abraham lead his family from Mesopotamia to Canaan
Answer:
Yahweh came to him and told him to move to Canaan with his family.
Explanation:
Abraham led his family to Canaan because Yahweh appeared to him and told him to do so. In the instructions, Yahweh said Abraham should smash his father’s idols and worship only him. To prove this, he should lead his family to Canaan (the place where Israel is stated today). In return, Yahweh promised that Abraham shall find a great nation, and live in the “land of milk and honey”, meaning all will be going well for him and his family.
According to the Torah, Abraham’s son, Isaac, was the one from which all Hebrew heritage starts, and this moving of Abraham led Judean people to their land.
