But the Red Sea Is full of caprice, and often bolsterous, like most long and narrow gulfs. When the wind came from the African or Aslan
coast the Mongolia, with her long hull, rolled fearfully. Then the ladies speedily disappeared below; the planos were silent; singing and
dancing suddenly ceased. Yet the good ship ploughed straight on, unretarded by wind or wave, towards the straits of Bab-el-Mandeb. What
was Phileas Fogg doing all this time? It might be thought that, in his anxiety, he would be constantly watching the changes of the wind, the
disorderly raging of the billows--every chance, In short, which might force the Mongolla to slacken her speed, and thus interrupt his

Buster Bear tells Little Joe Otter to come and get the trout from him, but Littke Joe Otter is not in a good mood to talk to Buster Bear after he made him lose his fish. No matter how much Buster Bear begged and offered him a trout, Little Joe Otter would never lose him and would still think of revenge because this story could not end like that.
Buster Bear started talking about how sorry he was for what happened and that he was giving him the trout with sincerity and honesty, because he really wanted to apologize and try to generate a friendship between the two, because life can be very lonely without friends. Little Joe Otter even agreed with that and was not a spiteful person. He really needed a friend and Buster Bear seemed sincere, so he decided to give him a vote of confidence, which worked out well, as their friendship lasted for years and they lived very well together.
The moral of this story is that apologizing can generate friends for life and it is better to generate friends than enemies.

Jacob is required to use primary sources for a research paper about the US Constitution. He found a book containing photocopies of original handwritten letters by Thomas Jefferson. The following paragraph is taken from a letter that Thomas Jefferson wrote to James Madison in 1787 about the US Constitution. Why would the book be considered a primary source? Use evidence from the letter to support your answer.
"I will now add what I do not like. First the omission of a bill of rights providing clearly and without the aid of sophisms for freedom of religion, freedom of the press, protection against standing armies, restriction against monopolies, the eternal and unremitting force of the habeas corpus laws, and trials by jury in all matters of fact triable by the laws of the land and not by the law of nations. To say, as Mr. Wilson does that a bill of rights was not necessary because all is reserved in the case of the general government which is not given, while in the particular ones all is given which is not reserved, might do for the audience to whom it was addressed, but is surely a gratis dictum, opposed by strong inferences from the body of the instrument, as well as from the omission of the clause of our present confederation which had declared that in express terms. It was a hard conclusion to say because there has been no uniformity among the states as to the cases triable by jury, because some have been so incautious as to abandon this mode of trial, therefore the more prudent states shall be reduced to the same level of calamity. It would have been much more just & wise to have concluded the other way that as most of the states had judiciously preserved this palladium, those who had wandered should be brought back to it, and to have established general right instead of general wrong. Let me add that a bill of rights is what the people are entitled to against every government on earth, general or particular, and what no just government should refuse or rest on inference."
Answer:
The book contains photocopies of Jefferson’s original letters. Not only are these letters Jefferson’s actual words, but the copies also present his words in his own handwriting. While the page isn’t the actual letter, Jacob is quoting Jefferson’s actual words and thoughts. Therefore, the book is a primary source document.
Explanation:
Two circumstances fits with the question:
1 - if the chapter's authors based their conclusions on their analysis of primary sources related to the Russian Revolution of 1917
2 - if that chapter were being read to understand how American educators taught Russian history in the 1960s.
The 1960s in America were a confusing period under the shadow of the Cold War. The United States and the Soviet Union were fighting ideologically to prove which system - Capitalism or Communism - was the best. Each side attempted to show the problems and mistakes of each economic system, sometimes almost reaching to fight fiscally. Because of all these misunderstandings and attacks of both sides, it's necessary to be careful with all the material produced at that time, especially a textbook, because the content can be tendencious, and mislead the reader. We ONLY could consider this textbook relevant if the authors were correct on their sources, writing based on researches, and if this textbook would be used to understand how Russian history was taught in the 1960s. Because one way or another, this textbook is outdated a lot!

Every year since its beginning, our town's Old Home Days celebration
has resulted in traffic accidents, Luckily, no one has been seriously
injured, but it is clear that we need better traffic control during the
festivities. Parents who pull over on Main Street to drop off kids cause
other drivers to pull around them, creating a dangerous situation. To
avoid this, the police who stop traffic for pedestrians to cross Main
Street should be located at more than one spot. It is the responsibility
of the drivers to be careful, but we can make their job easier by making
some simple changes.
Which is a subjective summary of the passage?
A. Reckless drivers and unconcerned police mean that there will
eventually be a major disaster on Old Home Days.

Days event.
O C. The children's drop-off spot is one of the most problematic areas
within the Old Home Days site.

"Oh, mother," Arachne would answer. Then she would
go on weaving. She thought that her work was far more
important than sleep. In the morning, she always puffed
up with pride when she saw what she had made in the
dark.
The cloths she wove were very beautiful. In fact, they
were the best in all the land, and news of them traveled
fast. So, it was not long before folks showed up at
Arachne's door just to watch her work.
Answer:
folks showed up . . just to watch her work.
Explanation:
The lines "folks showed up . . just to watch her work" best predicts that Arachne might be a better weaver than Athena because it might mean that Athena, the goddess of handicraft, wisdom and warfare is less admired by people when the news of Arachne spread across the land.
Arachne who wove beautiful clothes became a sight which many wanted to see. Many people travelled from different places to get a glimpse of her weaving sidelining Athena and making her less important.

Most schools have regular uniforms that are cheap mostly looking for a red top or a navy-blue top, and black bottoms and or CACI bottoms. But this school in Japan is way different, they want families to pay 80,000 Yen or $735 in the U.S. This is outrageous and should not be allowed as some families could maybe not afford it or families who are going through hard times. Nevertheless, Families should not have to pay hundreds of dollars for uniforms, and why people should think this too. According to the article “Is this uniform too much?” Wada explains that “He knows the uniform costs more last year, but he considers it worth the price because multiple boutiques are near the school”. Others tell Wada it is not a good idea as it is a public school so most people will have different financial backgrounds. To wrap it up, it is not a good idea as it is a public school and most families could be struggling, and it is a public school in last year the uniforms are cheaper so they should just go with that option. I personally believe that expensive uniforms are not a good idea as students will not be able to express themselves in uniform and because it would be way too expensive for families to afford especially low-class families.

Q: When Majed was six years old, his family

True
False
Answer:
False
Explanation:
The statement that Majed was six years old when his family moved to Jeddah is false.
In the first sentence of the passage, we are told that Majed was born in Jeddah (Majed Abdullah was born in Jeddah on...). In the second sentence, we are told that, when he was six years old, his family moved to Riyadh (When he was six, his father got a job as a coach of the Al- Nassr youth team and the family moved to Riyadh). If the statement contained information about his family moving to Riyadh, it would've been correct.
What does this poem mean to you? (paragraph)
Answer:
mm its interesting..
Answer:
It is specifically asking for your views, but here is what the poem means to me:
It is telling a story of a student who seems to live in a poor family who cannot afford much (they don't have an alarm clock, nobody washed the uniform, they can't afford lighting, it seems, they have to eat breakfast at school, and they don't even have a pencil). Therefore, they may be living on their own due to their mother not being around (cause mama wasn't home) and nothing is mentioned about a father, grandparents, etc., but a sibling is mentioned. To me, this poem is all about the struggle of two siblings who can't afford most things. Though not much is told about them in detail, many conclusions can be drawn, like how they are poor and they are alone. Hope this helps in some way.

Which two lines reflect the rising action in this passage?
Ellie took pride in her archery skills. Among the 40 members of Greenville School's Archery Club, she was the only one who could hit a target 50
meters away.
During the second term, a new student, Ripley, joined the archery club. On her first day, Ripley proved that she was just as good as Ellie. The
instructor even believed that she could perform better than Ellie. Gradually, Ripley took over Ellie's position as the top archer of the school. As a
result, Ellie lost a lot of friends who wanted to hang out with the new star archer.
Finally, the day of the state archery tournament arrived. As expected, Ripley quickly climbed the scoreboards; Ellie followed closely behind.
However, no one realized that Ellie had secretly been practicing for the final 50-meter round. When the final round was over, everyone was
astonished. Ellie had struck a perfect bull's-eye on all five attempts. She was the state champion!
Everyone rushed to congratulate Ellie on her victory. She walked over to her rival, vho was standing alone in a corner. Ellie took Ripley's hand
and thanked her. If it had not been for her, Ellie would have never trained so hard.
Over the next several years, Ellie and Ripley continued their rivalry. But when they were not on the field, they were the best of friends.
Answer:
Gradually, Ripley took over Ellie's position as the top archer of the school.
Explanation:
Ellie had struck a perfect bull's-eye on all five attempts. She was the state champion!
-i had this same assignment and when i chose these, it was correct :))
Answer:
I'm not too sure if this is correct but I'll say it would be
"Among the 40 members of Greenville School's Archery Club, she was the only one who could hit a target 50 meters away."
and
"During the second term, a new student, Ripley, joined the archery club."
Explanation: The reason that I say this, is because I would think that "Gradually, Ripley took over Ellie's position as the top archer of the school." would be the climax or the problem and usually the rising action takes place before the climax and these were the only 2 options before that.

Answer:
From what I know, since sin came into this world, suffering came with it. God gave us free will and it's our choice to make the right decision or not. God has a plan for people's lives that they may not always understand. This may include evil and suffering but Christians should trust and have faith in God's plan. Evil and suffering in this life is a preparation for heaven. Evil and suffering give people a chance to become better people and improve their souls. They believe that God will reward them in heaven.
Hope this helps...
